Next week the rejected Swanwick Crematorium development will go to appeal, where the proposing company will attempt to have a decision by Amber Valley Borough Council’s planning board overturned.
AVBC’s planning board rejected the proposals on the grounds that it wouldn’t be suitable for the area, something which I agree with, especially when considering that the proposed site has a unique protection in the Local Plan to keep the land as open space. For the Inspector to approve this application would make a mockery of the Local Plan.
Hopefully the appeal is rejected and Swanwick residents get the result they want.
