On Wednesday 22nd April I had the pleasure of taking Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to visit Zycomm in Ripley to see the great work they do.

Zycomm is a fantastic local employer and have supported my jobs fairs. Their niche wireless broadband service is really impressive and has done a great deal to bolster broadband coverage in the rural parts of Amber Valley and the wider area.

Over 90,000 premises in Derbyshire now have access to Superfast Broadband thanks to investment by the Conservative-led Government.

Commenting on the visit, Sajid Javid said: “Derbyshire has seen its fortunes revived over the last five years as part of the Government’s Long Term Economic Plan with firms like Zycomm expanding.

“Vital to continuing the trend is improving broadband and connectivity further which will help make business boom in the Amber Valley and the wider county.

“We have already invested significantly, with thousands of Derbyshire premises now enjoying Superfast Broadband, but we have bigger ambitions to push coverage even further.

“I know if Nigel is re-elected as your MP he will continue to push for more support in the area.”

It was fantastic to take the Secretary of State to visit such a great local business, you can find out more about what Zycomm do by visiting their website.
