It's welcome news that the Rwanda policy has been ruled by the High Court to be lawful.

No doubt there will be appeals from a number of campaign groups, and others who believe we should have open borders, however this is undoubtedly a victory.

On Tuesday, the Government announced that schools and colleges in England will receive an extra £500m to improve their energy efficiency.

I welcome this investment as some of the funding will be used to improve schools here in Amber Valley.

I am very sorry to hear about the current closure of Loscoe Chilled Food and the temporary furlough of its staff. I am sure there are many working at LCF who are nervous, following the recent news that the company has been embroiled in the Meat Fraud probe.I am already in contact with Jobcentre and the Department for Work and Pensions to ensure LCF employees have support available to them. Heanor Jobcentre has Work Coaches and Employment Advisors ready and prepared to support anyone who’s employment might be impacted as a result of the probe. Matthew Walker and Owen Taylor & Sons Ltd Butchers are both recruiting and have indicated interest in taking on LCF employees. There are two upcoming events at Heanor Jobcentre next week, for anyone who wants to drop in and talk to an advisor. These are on:- Tuesday 28th March, 10am - 12pm- Wednesday 29th March, 10am – 12pmYou don’t need a registration, just turn up. If you can’t attend these times or would like further assistance, you can contact Jobcentre, Citizens Advice or myself directly, by emailing nigel@nigelmillsmp.com ... See MoreSee Less

HSBC will be reaching out to customers in the next few weeks to provide further information about their plans moving forward. ... See MoreSee Less
