I was delighted to hear that Tom Hall-Butcher of Somercotes has been selected to represent Great Britain at the Paralympic Games in London. Tom will make his Paralympic debut in London in the men’s wheelchair fencing sabre class A event.
I wish him all the best and hope to see him bring back a Gold Medal.
I had the pleasure of attending an event in Parliament in relation to the Paralympic games. Here’s a photo of me with the Paralympic torch. While these games don’t get all the media attention that the Olympic games do, they’re a great event in their own right and do encourage participation in sport for people with disabilities.
