Today saw the announcement that the JSA in claimant count fell again in November here in Amber Valley. It’s now at 1.9%, lower than the 2.1% announced in October. This means that a further 91 of my constituents are back in work or starting their own businesses.
We also saw the announcement yesterday that the falling costs of fuel have seen a reduction in inflation, which now stands at 1%. Additionally, we saw that wages are picking up – at 1.6% per year excluding bonuses. This means that people are feeling the economic recovery in their own pockets.
None of this could be possible without our long-term economic plan, and we must stick to it to ensure that we continue on the road to a better and brighter future for Amber Valley.
