Lily Street Farm Update – Nigel calls on Minister to call in planning application

Lily Street Nigel

Many constituents have contacted me to highlight their concerns about the Lily Street Farm planning application, for a mixed use development in Swanwick.

This is an issue that I know many local residents feel very strongly about. Therefore, before Parliament dissolved I wrote to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to ask him to consider calling in this application. The Minister of State, Brandon Lewis, noted that he would consider this request when a decision on the planning application was closer.

Since May, I have met with Amber Valley Borough Council to represent the views and concerns of many constituents on this major mixed use development.

As the planning application is now set to come before the Council’s Planning Board on the 16th November 2015, I have written to the Minister of State for Housing and Planning again, to again urge the Minister to call in this major application, so that it can be considered fairly and impartially, with the interests of local residents as the priority. You can read my letter in full here.
