Lily Street Farm – Request to Call In Application

Many constituents have contacted me about the Lily Street Farm planning application, and I’ve made representations to the Council on their behalf. However, as you may know, the Labour administration on the Council has passed the application in an outrageously anti-democratic way, when they didn’t make any Councillors aware of its presence in the meeting before it took place.

Since it’s quite clear to me that there are several reasons why this development shouldn’t go ahead (I explain these in my letter), on 20th March, I wrote to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles MP, to ask him to ‘call in’ the planning application.

If the Secretary of State agrees, the application will be taken out of the Council’s hands and be decided by Mr Pickles. I have set out my objections to the application in my letter.

You can read my letter to the Secretary of State here.
