Langley Mill Junior School – Flag 2015

2015 Marks the 750th anniversary of the Montfort Parliament, where elected representatives of the shires and boroughs came together for the first time. To mark this important year, the 2015 Flag Project invited Primary school students (ages 7-11) across the UK to design a flag to represent their constituency. Above is the contribution from a year 3 pupil from Langley Mill Junior School in the constituency.

The pupil from Langley Mill Junior school used local inspiration to design their flag, the windmill, boat and letter A (initial of the the Aristoc tight factory) are all a nod to Langley Mill’s heritage.

The Flag will be exhibited and Langley Mill Junior School will receive a certificate to mark their contribution to the exhibition. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Langley Mill Junior School and thank them for their contribution to this exhibition.

The online exhibition has now gone live on the new 2015 Flag digital hub, and now any school within the constituency will be able to take part and submit a flag design to represent Amber Valley.
