I was pleased to hold my fourth Jobs Fair recently to bring employers, training providers and jobseekers together.
More than fifty stallholders attended, including a range of local employers such as the Manthorpe Group, Owen Taylor & Son, Rock Fall UK, Filigree Holdings, HL Plastics, Deb, IKEA, Tesco, BPI Recycled Products, Birchwood Homecaring Services, UPS, McDonalds and Talk Staff Recruitment.
The fair also played host to education, training and apprenticeships providers such as the PeoplePlus, WEBS Training, NG Teach, Being Your Own Boss and QA Associates.
Seminars also ran offering advice on creating a CV, job applications, money management advice, becoming self-employed and overcoming interview objections.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. I’m delighted that several constituents have already been employed as a result of the fair, and many more have been given trials or interviews for jobs, apprenticeships or training programmes. This means that even more people in Amber Valley have the security of a regular job and pay packet.
I will continue to hold Jobs Fairs and events so that even more businesses can come together to help more people find work and training opportunities.
