Free Vote on the Hunting Act 2004

Over the past few weeks my inbox has been inundated with a large number of emails and letters regarding the Hunting Act 2004. The Prime Minister, David Cameron recently outlined that he would like to see a free vote on the Hunting Act 2004 and whether it should be repealed during the course of this Parliament.

Whilst no further plans on this issue have been announced, I know this matter is of great concern to many of you and I wanted to outline my thoughts on this matter – I do not believe we should kill animals for sport. I will vote to retain the existing legislation and I would only vote to amend the current legislation in the future, if I viewed it to be making an improvement to the existing legislation to make the implementation of the law more effective.
