Dear Constituent,

Welcome to a short special edition of my newsletter for Christmas. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Christmas Card Competition Winners:

Thank you to everyone who entered my Christmas Card Competition this year. We received hundreds of fantastic designs from many schools and children of all ages across Amber Valley, and it was very difficult to choose a winner!

Congratulations to Andy Lin, age 9, from Langley Mill Junior School for his amazing singing snowmen and winter themed design:

Well done also to the four runners-up who feature on the reverse of my Christmas Card:

Royal Mail Festive Visit:

I recently visited Royal Mail’s local delivery offices to meet the postmen and women who are working hard sorting and delivering mail in Amber Valley during the festive season.

I was shown around the Alfreton office by Delivery Office Manager, Ian Nightingale, who gave me a tour of the efficient system the delivery office operates so that everyone can get their post in time for Christmas! The system means that the delivery office can cope with the increasing volume of parcels as a result of our Christmas internet shopping and, this Christmas, postmen and women have been making earlier deliveries to ensure you’re in to receive your parcel.

Thank you to all of the staff for hosting my visit and for the fantastic service they provide to all of us throughout the year!

I will be at Tesco’s in Heanor on the 8th January 2016 from 10.30am – please come and say hello, and raise any concerns or problems with me whilst you do your shopping!
