Big Lottery Fund Grant Awards

I would like to congratulate Swanwick Hall School & Sports College, Heanor Village Hall and Heanor Town Football Club on being awarded Big Lottery grants totalling £29,650.

This is welcome news and I am really pleased that these organisations have secured these grants.

From providing an opportunity to bring the community together and increase inter-generational cohesion to enabling children to participate in physical activity, these grants will make a real different to these organisations and really benefit the community. Here’s a summary of how they were awarded:

Swanwick Hall School & Sports College were awarded £9,650 to run after school physical activity clubs for pupils and children in the wider community. This will enable beneficiaries to participate in cycling, fishing and outdoor educational work to help increase their social skills, self-esteem and confidence.

Heage Village Hall were awarded £10,000 to fund the building of disabled friendly toilet facilities at the village hall to replace the current deteriorating portacabin.

Heanor Town FC Community Fund were awarded £10,000 to fund the Charles Hill Diamond Jubilee Event.
