East Midlands Spas visit, with their new apprentice

Apprenticeships Scheme – East Midlands Spas

It was great to be invited by David Joyce of Ripley-based  East Midlands Spas (external link), who has recently taken on an apprentice to pass on the knowledge about the trade he works in.

I’m pictured below with Reece Humphries, my 18-year-old constituent who David took on. He’s been there just over two months, learning how to do everything from fitting, water chemistry, to business administration and even selling the hot tubs.

It was great meet Reece and David, and to see how our Apprenticeships Scheme is helping small businesses to help young people get on in life. It was also great to see the products they make there, although sadly I didn’t get the opportunity to test one!

This is particularly encouraging to see when we’ve three weeks until my third Amber Valley Jobs Fair. There are plenty of talented people in Amber Valley who are looking for work or to move up the ladder – so come along to Ripley Leisure Centre on 27th February between 10 AM and 4 PM. You can find out more information on the Fair’s web site.
