I am pleased to announce that the Government has committed to to funding improved disabled access at Alfreton Train Station as part of its Access For All programme.
I am reassured by the news that Alfreton train station will receive an accessible route into the station, and between each platform. I am told that East Midlands Trains will now work with Network Rail and local authorities to develop and deliver final schemes to provide step-free access at Alfreton.
I will press for this to be done as soon as possible, given how long overdue it is.
