On Thursday 15th May, I was delighted to welcome Patrick McLoughlin MP, the Secretary of State for Transport, to Amber Valley.
I took the opportunity to show the Secretary of State the noise problems coming from the A38 in Ripley, Rawson Green, Swanwick and Alfreton. I know that noise levels coming from the A38 is a problem for many of my constituents, which is why I launched a campaign to reduce it.
Commenting, the Secretary of State said: “Nigel made a persuasive case about the noise issues experienced by those close to the A38. I will explore the matter further.”
I will continue to press for noise reduction measures on the A38.
